Pamela Sunderland, Yoga Teacher
My journey into Yoga began 7 years ago when I became pregnant with my second child. I found parenting challenging and I was searching for tools to help me become a calmer and more patient mother. Whilst my role as mother will always present new challenges as my children grow, Yoga has become so much more than a parenting tool. Within two years of practicing, I enrolled on a teacher training course – not to become a teacher – to learn more about Yoga and its teachings.
Yoga was becoming a way of life and helping me to remember that I simply AM, beyond the labels of mother, wife, sister, daughter, worker etc. It took me four years to complete this course and within two months of completing, I was asked to teach. It is said, a student doesn’t fully master a subject till they start teaching the subject and I realise how true this is.
I may be far from mastership, but the journey itself is worthy. I love teaching and building connections within the community, helping other people to find a confidence within their bodies, to let go of irritations, to find an inner stillness within themselves. It is an honour and a blessing to serve.
Pamela teaches weekly classes and is available for 1-2-1 yoga sessions.
