Psychotherapy involves the use of established, evidence-based psychological therapies (or “talking cures”) to help clients resolve recent or longstanding life issues, to alleviate and manage specific psychological disorders and symptoms, or to investigate personal meaning and find more fulfilling ways to live. This can include psychodynamic therapy, CBT, mindfulness-based therapies and many other approaches tailored to the individual. Psychotherapy may be brief or long term and involves working in depth with clients in a safe therapeutic environment.
